Several Slidell City Council Members Hold Final Meeting Before New Term Begins

Tonight marked the final Slidell City Council meeting for several members whose current terms end June 30.

A new council will be sworn in on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium.

Here is who is leaving and who will replace them:

Bill Borchert, Councilman-at-Large, will be replaced by Tom Abney.

Jeff Burgoyne, Councilman-at-Large, will be replaced by Leslie Denham.

Leslie Denham, District A, is leaving the District A seat and moving to an at-large seat. District A will be represented by Landon J. Washington.

David Dunham, District B, will be replaced by Sean Fadely.

Kenny Tamborella, District E, will be replaced by Shawn Jones.

Cindi King, District G, will be replaced by Tim Rogers.

Megan Haggerty in District C, Nick DiSanti in District D, and Trey Brownfield in District F will continue serving on the council.

The July 1 ceremony will officially begin the next chapter of Slidell city government, with the mayor, city council members, and police chief taking their oaths of office.
