The District Attorney's victim assistance program acts as a liaison between crime victims and prosecutors. It explains the court process, helps with victim impact statements, provides information about restitution and the Crime Victims Reparations Fund, prepares victims for court, and notifies registered victims about defendant status and parole hearings.

Who it's for

Victims of homicide, felony crimes of violence, sexual offenses, certain vehicular offenses, domestic violence, or attempts to commit these offenses. Victims must file a Louisiana Victim Notice and Registration Form with law enforcement or the DA's office.
