Under Louisiana's Region 9 sexual assault response plan, St. Tammany Parish Hospital (Covington), its Mandeville stand-alone ER, Covington Trace ER, Lakeview Hospital (Covington) and Slidell Memorial Hospital are designated to provide forensic medical exams for sexual assault survivors. Exams are performed by the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office SANE team when available, otherwise by emergency physicians. Survivors are not required to report to police to receive an exam.
