Infrastructure and drainage projects top the list for next year’s parish budget.
The St. Tammany Parish President laid out budget priorities for the coming fiscal year during a public address this week, highlighting drainage improvements and road resurfacing as top priorities.
The proposed budget includes increased funding for several stormwater projects in flood-prone neighborhoods, following resident complaints after recent heavy rain events.
“We’ve heard from residents loud and clear that drainage has to be the priority,” the parish president said.
The council will hold public hearings on the budget proposal over the next several weeks before a final vote.
