Jeanell Landwehr Named 2026 Real Superhero Of Safe Harbor

The Rabbit Hole was honored to attend the 14th annual Real Superheroes of Safe Harbor Gala on Saturday night, joining community leaders and supporters for an evening dedicated to one of the Northshore’s most important organizations.

This year’s candidates were Donna Bach, Amanda Gritten, David Holloway, Jeanell Landwehr, Dr. Joel Berry, Reagan Charleston Thomas, Richard Ducote and Christian Monson.

Each candidate stepped forward to raise money, increase awareness and support Safe Harbor’s mission of helping survivors of domestic, family and dating violence. While only one person could receive the cape, every candidate demonstrated the compassion and commitment that make someone a true community superhero.

Jeanell Landwehr Receives The Cape

Jeanell Landwehr was named the 2026 Real Superhero of Safe Harbor.

Landwehr has dedicated an extraordinary 64 years to serving St. Tammany Parish. She previously served as St. Tammany Parish Clerk of Court for 36 years and currently serves as jury coordinator for the 22nd Judicial District Court.

Her decades of public service and the relationships she has built throughout the parish made her a fitting recipient of this year’s honor.

The moment was made even more meaningful when Tracey Powell, Safe Harbor’s 2025 Real Superhero, presented the cape to Landwehr. It was a special passing of the torch from last year’s winner to the Northshore’s newest superhero.

An Evening Supporting An Important Mission

The gala included dinner, live music, dancing, entertainment and auctions, but the heart of the evening was Safe Harbor’s mission.

Since 1991, Safe Harbor has provided free and confidential assistance to survivors of domestic violence and their children throughout St. Tammany Parish. Its work includes crisis intervention, emergency shelter, safety planning, advocacy and other services designed to help survivors find safety, healing and hope.

Organizations like Safe Harbor provide help during moments when people may feel frightened, isolated and unsure where to turn. Its staff, volunteers, supporters and donors help survivors understand that they are not alone and that a safer future is possible.

The Real Superheroes gala does more than recognize exceptional members of the community. It brings people together behind a mission that saves lives and gives survivors an opportunity to begin again.
