    A former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s correctional officer has been arrested after striking an inmate at the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.

    Jamyranesha Williams, 24, was terminated after admitting Thursday (Sept. 17) night to a supervisor that she hit an inmate who had been taunting her.

    A federal officer was arrested Friday (August 21) morning after he entered his ex-girlfriend’s Covington-area apartment without permission.

    Thomas Bailey, 58, of Lecompte, was arrested by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and taken into custody. He will be booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center for one count of L.R.S. 14:62.3 Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling.

    A Covington-area man has been arrested for murder after it was determined he sold the fentanyl that resulted in the death of a woman last year.

    In September 2025, detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit were called in to investigate the suspicious death of a 28-year-old Bush-area woman. During the investigation, it was learned the woman had died of a fentanyl overdose.

    What began as an investigation into a shoplifting incident at a Covington-area retail store resulted in two people being arrested on drug and weapons charges.

    The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified Saturday (August 8) after a man was observed “swapping tags” while checking out at a Covington-area home improvement store. Through their investigation, deputies identified the man as Garrett Boucvalt (DOB 10/27/1987), and a warrant was issued for his arrest for L.R.S. 14:68.7 – Receipts and Universal Product Code Labels; Unlawful Acts.

    An employee of an outside vendor that provides commissary services at the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center was arrested last week after an investigation revealed she was bringing illegal contraband into the facility.

    Tinaja Taylor (DOB 4/11/2002) was arrested Thursday (August 6) on two counts of L.R.S. 14:402 Taking Contraband to and From a Penal Facility.

    Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that occurred Monday (July 20) afternoon in the 4300 block of Birch Street near Slidell.

    STPSO patrol deputies and detectives were dispatched Monday afternoon to a property in the 4300 block of Birch Street after receiving a report that a man had been shot.
