Delivery Driver Arrested After Allegedly Sending Sexually Explicit Photo to St. Tammany Customer

A Franklinton man was arrested over the weekend after authorities say he sent an unsolicited sexually explicit photograph to a St. Tammany Parish woman shortly after delivering her grocery order.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office identified the delivery driver as 32 year old James Chenoweth of Franklinton.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Chenoweth was working for a third party delivery company when he delivered a grocery order to the woman Friday night, September 18.

Investigators say that after completing the delivery, Chenoweth sent the customer an unsolicited sexually explicit photograph through a text message.

The woman contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office after receiving the image and reported the incident.

Deputies located Chenoweth the following day, Saturday, September 19, and took him into custody.

Authorities said Chenoweth had attempted to delete the photograph from his phone before deputies located him.

Chenoweth was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on charges of obstruction of justice, obscenity involving an unsolicited sexually explicit text message, and improper telephone communication.

The case highlights a situation in which contact information provided for the purpose of completing a delivery was allegedly used for communication unrelated to the delivery itself.

No additional details were immediately released regarding the delivery company involved or whether Chenoweth remained employed by the company following his arrest.

An arrest is not a determination of guilt. Chenoweth is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
