Kenner Business Owner Arrested After Hidden Camera Found In Workplace Bathroom

KENNER, La. — A Kenner business owner has been arrested after police say a hidden camera was discovered inside a bathroom used by employees, leading investigators to uncover hundreds of photographs and videos and several additional recording devices.

Henry Rios, 57, identified by Kenner Police as the owner of ETC NOLA Signs on Bainbridge Avenue, was booked on three counts of video voyeurism. Investigators say additional charges could follow as detectives continue reviewing evidence and attempting to identify potential victims.

The investigation began after a victim discovered a concealed camera attached underneath a bathroom sink at the business. Police say investigators obtained evidence showing Rios manipulating the position of the camera and later moving the device into his office.

Kenner Police executed search warrants at the business on September 17. During the search, detectives recovered three additional cameras designed to be easily concealed. Investigators also seized 13 thumb drives, five memory cards and another camera disguised to resemble an alarm clock.

Police say investigators have so far identified three victims and recovered more than 500 photographs and videos during the investigation. Rios was arrested September 17 and initially booked on three counts of video voyeurism.

The investigation may extend beyond the Bainbridge Avenue business. Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley said investigators are concerned similar recording devices could have been placed at other businesses where Rios performed work.

Police are urging business owners to inspect bathrooms, changing rooms and other areas where people would expect privacy for unfamiliar or suspicious electronic devices. Authorities released photographs of some of the cameras recovered during the investigation to help the public recognize what concealed recording equipment may look like.

The investigation remains ongoing. The charges against Rios are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
