Lighthouse Louisiana operates the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf Regional Service Center covering Region 9, which includes St. Tammany Parish, with an office in Covington. It distributes adaptive equipment such as amplified and captioned telephones, visual alert systems and TV listening devices, provides free hearing aids to qualifying low-income Louisiana residents age 50 and older, and schedules American Sign Language interpreters.
