GOEA is the state unit on aging for Louisiana. It funds and oversees the statewide network of Area Agencies on Aging and Councils on Aging that deliver meals, transportation, in-home help and other home and community based services to older adults, and it operates the state's Elderly Protective Services and Long-Term Care Ombudsman programs.
