WALKER, La. — A Louisiana police officer has been arrested following an investigation into a sexual assault complaint involving a 13-year-old, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Hayden McKenzie, 23, an officer with the Walker Police Department, was taken into custody and booked on a charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said detectives with the agency’s Special Victims Unit began investigating the allegations in August.
Authorities say the investigation stemmed from a sexual assault complaint involving an incident that allegedly occurred in Livingston Parish in April 2025.
The alleged victim was 13 years old at the time.
McKenzie was 22 at the time of the alleged incident, according to authorities.
Following McKenzie’s arrest, Walker Police Chief David Addison announced that the officer had been suspended with pay in accordance with department policy.
Addison said the suspension will remain in place pending the outcome of an administrative investigation and the disposition of the criminal charge.
Local jail records showed McKenzie being held at the Livingston Parish Detention Center without bond following his arrest.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office says its investigation remains ongoing.
McKenzie has been charged but has not been convicted. The allegations against him have not yet been adjudicated in court.
