Several children participating in Northshore High School homecoming activities were reportedly struck by BB gun or pellet gun fire Wednesday night in Slidell, according to multiple accounts shared by parents on social media.
The incidents reportedly occurred while students were participating in “White Wednesday,” a homecoming tradition in which students toilet-paper homes with parental approval.
One mother reported that her son was struck in the head by a projectile fired from a passing truck. She said other children were also hit but appeared to be okay.
Another account described an incident on Woodruff Drive, where a group of girls and a mother were reportedly struck by projectiles fired by someone riding in the back of a passing pickup truck.
According to that account, several individuals suffered welts on their backs, arms, legs, and chests. One person was reportedly struck in the head, while another was bleeding.
Photographs circulating among residents show a light-colored Ford F-150 pickup truck that witnesses believe may be connected to the incidents. The vehicle’s involvement has not been independently confirmed.
Parents are urging residents to review security cameras and doorbell footage for information that could help identify those responsible.
At least one parent indicated that law enforcement was being contacted. It remains unclear whether an official investigation has been opened or whether any suspects have been identified.
The Rabbit Hole News has not independently confirmed the number of victims, the extent of their injuries, or whether all reported incidents involved the same vehicle.
Anyone with information about the incidents or the pickup truck is encouraged to contact the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office or Slidell Police Department.
