Local High School Marching Band Heading to State Competition

A local high school marching band earned a spot at the state competition after a top score at last weekend’s regional contest, capping months of after-school rehearsals.

Band director Michelle Toups said the students have put in extraordinary work since the start of summer practice.

“These kids have worked incredibly hard, and it’s paying off,” Toups said. “We couldn’t be prouder of them.”

The state competition will be held later next month, and the community is invited to a send-off celebration at the school before the band departs.
