The team’s defense held strong in a hard-fought season opener.
The local high school football team opened its season with a hard-fought road win Friday night, powered by a defense that held its opponent scoreless in the second half.
The team’s head coach credited a strong offseason of conditioning for the team’s fourth-quarter stamina.
“That’s a program-building win right there,” the coach said after the game. “The kids never stopped competing.”
The team returns home next week for its home opener, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
