A tense security scare unfolded at the White House after a man allegedly attempted to breach a restricted barrier near the White House complex.
According to reports, the suspect jumped over a construction bollard near the Treasury Building on the northeast side of the White House grounds before moving toward a pedestrian gate.
Secret Service officers immediately confronted the man, leading to a physical struggle before he was subdued and taken into custody.
One Secret Service officer reportedly suffered a minor laceration during the confrontation. Both the officer and the suspect were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity or announced formal charges.
