16 Year Old Arrested After Series of DoorDash Driver Robberies Near Slidell
A 16 year old has been arrested after investigators say he targeted multiple DoorDash drivers in the Lakeshore Villages area near Slidell.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the teen allegedly placed DoorDash orders to homes in and around the neighborhood without paying in advance. When drivers arrived to deliver the food, investigators say he confronted them, took the orders by force, and fled the scene.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Persons Crimes Unit, working alongside patrol deputies, identified the teen as the suspect during the investigation.
Authorities say he was taken into custody early Sunday morning after another DoorDash driver was robbed while delivering a pizza order in the same area late Saturday night.
The teen was booked on three counts of simple robbery, one count of first degree robbery, and one count of attempted simple robbery.
The investigation remains ongoing. As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the juvenile is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
