Northshore Community Mourns Loss of Respected Realtor Yvette Catoire Sehon

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — The Northshore community is mourning the loss of Yvette Catoire Sehon, a longtime Realtor and involved community member whose death has left friends, colleagues and many who knew her heartbroken.
Sehon was well known throughout the Northshore, not only through her career in real estate, but through years of involvement in the community. She spent more than two decades in real estate after previously working as an educator in St. Tammany Parish.
Following news of her death, concern and speculation began spreading on social media about what may have happened, including questions about whether the circumstances were connected to her profession.
Authorities have since provided additional information.
The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office identified Sehon and said her death appears to have been a suicide. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating and says foul play is not suspected.
The Northshore Area Board of REALTORS also addressed concerns surrounding the tragedy. The organization initially reminded real estate professionals to continue following standard safety precautions when meeting unfamiliar people, but later cautioned against drawing conclusions before information was confirmed.
Based on information provided by the Sheriff’s Office, there is currently no indication of a threat to Realtors or the general public.

But for those who knew Sehon, the focus now is on the life she lived and the people she impacted.
She was a respected and involved member of the Northshore community who built relationships, served others and touched many lives throughout her years in education, real estate and community involvement.
Many hearts across the Northshore are broken by her loss. She will be remembered by friends, colleagues, clients and community members, and she will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
