Man Accused Of Threatening To Blow Up Ocean Springs Medical Facility Arrested

A man accused of making terroristic threats against a medical facility in Ocean Springs has been taken into custody.

According to the Ocean Springs Police Department, Desman Mikell was arrested Wednesday by officers with the Biloxi Police Department near a medical complex on Cedar Lake Road, ending the search for him.

Investigators said the threats were made Monday as Mikell was leaving a Memorial Health Clinic following a medical procedure.

Ocean Springs Police Chief Steven Dye said Mikell has a history of making similar threats, including an incident in Hattiesburg earlier this year and another in Marion County in 2020.

Following his arrest, Mikell was booked into jail on a $100,000 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
