Crack Cocaine Investigation in Slidell Ends With Two Arrests, Guns, Drugs and Body Armor Seized

A narcotics investigation targeting suspected crack cocaine distribution in the Slidell area has resulted in two arrests after St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives, assisted by the SWAT Team and Louisiana Probation and Parole, executed a search warrant at a home in the 60000 block of Short Lane.

According to investigators, 33-year-old Destin Miller was identified as the primary resident of the home. As deputies moved in to execute the warrant, 47-year-old Anthony Thompson allegedly ran from the residence into a nearby wooded area. After a brief search, deputies located him hiding behind a home on Boykin Lane and took him into custody.

During the search, detectives recovered:

• Approximately 7 grams of crack cocaine

• 100 Tapentadol pills

• Approximately 2 pounds of marijuana

• Four illegally possessed firearms

• Multiple firearm parts

• A ballistic vest

• One firearm reported stolen from the Slidell area in October 2025

Investigators say Miller is a convicted felon who remains on parole through 2032 following a 2018 conviction involving drug and firearm offenses.

Destin Miller was booked on the following charges:

• Three counts of Distribution of Cocaine

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Tapentadol

• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

• Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

• Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

• Unlawful Possession or Use of Body Armor

• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Anthony Thompson was booked on the following charges:

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Tapentadol

• Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

• Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

• Unlawful Possession or Use of Body Armor

• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

• Resisting an Officer

The investigation focused on alleged crack cocaine distribution from the residence, and authorities say the operation removed illegal narcotics, multiple firearms, and body armor from the community. The Sheriff’s Office has not indicated whether additional arrests or charges are expected as the investigation continues.
