Suspect Who Allegedly Fired at Officers in Slidell Captured After Pursuit Ends in Port Allen
A man accused of firing at law enforcement officers in Slidell was taken into custody Friday after a pursuit that ended in Port Allen.
According to authorities, multiple law enforcement agencies, including Louisiana State Police and the Baton Rouge Police Department, responded to the scene near the Red Roof Inn in Port Allen, where the suspect was ultimately apprehended.
Officials said the incident stemmed from a U.S. Marshals operation involving a suspect wanted for parole violations related to sex offenses.
Authorities allege the suspect fired at officers in Slidell before fleeing, leading to the pursuit that ended in West Baton Rouge Parish.
The suspect, described by officials as a white male, has not yet been publicly identified.
