The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office responded late Saturday night to reports of a large gathering involving juveniles in the Lakeshore Villages community near Slidell.

According to authorities, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 6600 block of Delta Ridge Avenue where hundreds of juveniles were reportedly attending a party. When law enforcement arrived, the crowd quickly dispersed from the residence and many relocated to a nearby neighborhood playground that was closed at the time.

Officials say multiple fights then broke out at the playground, prompting a larger law enforcement response. Deputies from additional patrol districts, along with troopers from Louisiana State Police and officers with the Slidell Police Department, were called in to help restore order and disperse the crowd.

As a result of the incident:

• Two male juveniles were arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace and Resisting Arrest.

• One male juvenile was arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace.

• One female juvenile was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest.

Authorities said all arrested juveniles were later released to their parents on custodial agreements and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is reminding parents and guardians to remain aware of their children’s whereabouts and activities, especially during large gatherings where situations can escalate quickly.

Sheriff Randy Smith also thanked Louisiana State Police and the Slidell Police Department for assisting deputies in safely dispersing the crowd and restoring order to the area.
