Slidell Police are expected to release additional details Friday afternoon in connection with what investigators describe as a violent crime spree tied to a dating app.

According to authorities, suspects allegedly used the app to make contact with victims before the encounters escalated into robberies, kidnappings, extortion attempts, and violent assaults.

Investigators say some victims may have initially been hesitant to report what happened due to embarrassment or fear. Police believe additional victims could still come forward as more information becomes public.

The individuals arrested in the case are facing numerous serious charges, including kidnapping, armed robbery, carjacking, aggravated second degree battery, extortion, and hate crime related charges.

In a statement, Slidell Police described the investigation as an “eye opening case” that exposed what they called a dangerous side of online dating platforms.

Officials say both suspects connected to the case have recently been taken into custody. A press conference discussing the investigation is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Slidell Police Department.
