South Carolina House Passes Bill To Allow Over-The-Counter Ivermectin

A bill that would allow ivermectin to be sold over the counter in South Carolina is moving forward after passing the state House this week.

According to reports, the legislation would let people purchase ivermectin tablets without a prescription if the bill ultimately becomes law. Ivermectin has long been approved for certain parasitic treatments in humans and animals.

The bill has not officially become law yet. It still must pass additional steps, including approval in the South Carolina Senate.

Federal health agencies, including the FDA, continue to state that ivermectin is approved for some parasitic infections in humans, but not approved for treating COVID 19.
