PICAYUNE, Miss. — Two people were arrested Friday after Picayune police searched a home on Wood Oaks Court and reported finding drugs tied to trafficking.

According to WLOX, officers were called to the home around 1:30 p.m. for a domestic dispute. Police said Courtney Wilford ran when officers arrived, but he was caught and arrested.

Investigators said they smelled marijuana coming from inside the home, which led them to get a search warrant.

During the search, police reported finding more than a pound of marijuana, a trafficking amount of fentanyl, and materials used for distribution.

Courtney Wilford and Alexis Wise are both charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Both are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
