‘Doomsday Plane’ Spotted Over Nebraska as Tensions With Iran Escalate
A U.S. “doomsday plane” was seen circling above Nebraska on Monday, raising eyebrows as tensions with Iran continue to build.
The aircraft, known as the Boeing E-4B Nightwatch, took off from Offutt Air Force Base and made multiple passes over the area before landing again. The base is home to U.S. Strategic Command, which oversees the nation’s nuclear arsenal and global military operations.
The E-4B isn’t just any aircraft. It’s designed to act as a flying command center in the event of a national emergency, including nuclear war. Built to withstand electromagnetic pulses, cyberattacks, and even nuclear blasts, the plane allows top officials to maintain control of military operations if ground systems are compromised.
The flight comes just hours before a deadline set by President Trump for Iran to agree to a proposed peace deal. If the deal is not accepted, Trump has warned of severe consequences, including the possibility of large-scale military strikes.
The United States maintains a small fleet of these aircraft, and while they do conduct routine flights, their movements often draw attention during periods of heightened global tension.
