A disturbing chain of events in Biloxi has led to two men being taken into custody after police say an act of violence was carried out in response to the reported killing of a puppy.

According to investigators, the situation began when a dog was allegedly killed in a brutal manner, which quickly sparked a reaction from others involved. Authorities say that shortly after the incident, two individuals confronted the person believed to be responsible and carried out an attack.

Police identified the suspects as Matthew Bolton and Austin Delano. Both are now facing aggravated assault charges following the confrontation.

The incident took place in a residential area along Floyd Drive, where officers responded and began piecing together what led up to the assault. Law enforcement believes the alleged killing of the animal directly triggered the retaliation.

Both men are currently being held on a high bond while the case continues to develop. Officials have confirmed that the investigation is still active, meaning additional details or charges could emerge as more information comes to light.

While the assault arrests have already been made, authorities also indicated that a separate animal cruelty charge is being considered in connection to the puppy’s death. However, as of now, no one has been formally charged in relation to that part of the case.
