Fire crews responded to Slidell Memorial Hospital Monday evening after reports of a possible fire in the cafeteria wing of the building.
Witnesses on scene reported seeing smoke coming from the area, and the fire department was on site investigating. As of this report, there had been no official confirmation of a fire or its cause.
The response was still active at the time, and officials had not yet released further details. Anyone near the hospital was advised to avoid the front entrance while crews worked.
