Police Chief Candidate Arrested On Rape Charges

A Louisiana man currently running for police chief has been arrested after authorities say two girls accused him of raping them approximately 20 years ago. Christopher Paul, 48, is a candidate for police chief in the Village of Elizabeth in Allen Parish and now faces two counts of second degree rape stemming from allegations dating back to 2005 and 2006.

According to Allen Parish Sheriff Doug Hebert, detectives received a complaint in early August 2026 alleging that Paul raped two girls who were both 13 years old at the time of the alleged offenses. Investigators then began looking into accusations that had remained unreported to authorities or unresolved for roughly two decades. Authorities have not publicly released the identities of the alleged victims, which is standard practice in cases involving allegations of sexual abuse, particularly when the alleged victims were minors at the time.

Police Chief Candidate Faces Two Rape Charges

The Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office says detectives conducted interviews with the alleged victims and witnesses as part of the investigation. Following those interviews and the collection of information in the case, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Paul on two counts of second degree rape. Paul subsequently turned himself in to authorities Tuesday, September 8, and was booked into the Allen Parish jail.
