DENHAM SPRINGS, La. — The 18-year-old son of Louisiana rapper Boosie Badazz has been arrested in Livingston Parish following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery and battery.
Ivy Ray Hatch, the son of Baton Rouge rapper Torrence Hatch, better known as Boosie Badazz, was taken into custody Thursday, October 22, along with a juvenile suspect.
According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Buffwood Street in Denham Springs around 7 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a battery.
The victim told investigators they had been physically assaulted and robbed.
Hatch was subsequently arrested on charges of armed robbery, aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm with drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A judge set his bond at $275,500, which Hatch posted before being released from the Livingston Parish Detention Center Thursday.
The juvenile suspect was transported to the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard confirmed that investigators expect additional arrests as the investigation continues.
Authorities have not publicly released the victim’s identity, the extent of any injuries, or additional details surrounding the alleged robbery.
Hatch’s father, Boosie Badazz, is one of Louisiana’s most recognizable rap artists, having built a national following from his roots in Baton Rouge.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the charges against Hatch have not been adjudicated.
