Eight Children Killed in Shreveport Mass Shooting, Police Say

SHREVEPORT, La. — A devastating shooting in Shreveport early Sunday morning left eight children dead and two others injured in what police described as a domestic-related incident.

According to authorities, officers responded just after 6 a.m. to reports of gunfire. Investigators say a total of 10 people were shot across multiple locations connected to the incident. The children who were killed ranged in age from 1 to 14 years old.

Police said the suspected gunman fled the scene, leading officers on a pursuit into nearby Bossier City. During that chase, the suspect was fatally shot by law enforcement. Officials stated that some of the children were related to the shooter.

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith called the scene unlike anything many officers had ever witnessed. Louisiana State Police are assisting in the ongoing investigation and asking anyone with information, photos, or videos related to the shooting to come forward.
