Gonzales Teen’s Legacy Lives On Through Organ Donation
PRAIRIEVILLE — A 20-year-old Gonzales resident has died following injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash Saturday morning in Ascension Parish.
According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. on Highway 73 near Duplessis Road.
Investigators say Jacobi Clement was traveling north on Highway 73 on a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 650 when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle left the highway and traveled off the right side of the road before crashing.
Clement was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
State Police later learned that Clement succumbed to his injuries Sunday morning.
Authorities say impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, although routine toxicology samples were collected as part of the ongoing investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police continue to remind motorists to stay alert, obey traffic laws, and exercise caution while operating motorcycles and other vehicles on Louisiana roadways.
