Heavy Law Enforcement Presence at Northshore Square Mall

Residents noticing a heavy law enforcement presence at Northshore Square Mall should be aware that this is a planned training exercise, not an emergency.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office says SWAT and academy trainees are currently using the mall as a real world training ground. The exercise is designed to give deputies hands on experience and continue sharpening their response skills.

While the scene may look intense, officials are emphasizing there is no threat to the public.

The Sheriff’s Office says they’re taking advantage of the location to better prepare for real situations and continue improving how they serve the community.
