Louisiana Man Accused Of Killing Wife, Driving Across Multiple States With Her Body In Passenger Seat

A Louisiana man is accused of shooting and killing his wife in Baton Rouge before placing her body in the passenger seat of a vehicle and driving for more than five hours across multiple states.

Authorities say 50-year-old Tyronne Brazille and his wife, 50-year-old Lanessa Bradford, were at Independence Community Park in Baton Rouge when an argument reportedly broke out.

Investigators allege Brazille shot Bradford before leaving Louisiana with her body inside the vehicle.

The drive continued for more than five hours before police stopped Brazille Thursday night in downtown Memphis, Tennessee. During the traffic stop, officers discovered Bradford dead in the passenger seat from a gunshot wound.

Brazille was taken into custody and booked in Memphis as a fugitive. He is awaiting extradition to Louisiana, where he is expected to face a murder charge in connection with Bradford’s death.

Bradford worked at an elementary school in Baton Rouge and was remembered by friends as a compassionate person who dedicated much of her life to helping children and families.

A longtime friend said Bradford had recently discussed leaving the marriage and had saved money and developed a plan to leave. The friend also said Bradford had previously told her that Brazille threatened to kill her or himself when she attempted to leave.

Brazille is expected to appear in court in Tennessee while the extradition process moves forward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
