New Orleans Judge Received $765,000 Home From Fiancé After Federal Fraud Charge

NEW ORLEANS, La. Orleans Parish Criminal District Court Judge Kimya Holmes received full ownership of a $765,000 home from her then fiancé less than a month after he was charged in a federal fraud case, according to a WWL TV investigation.

Arthur Allen was federally charged in December 2025 in connection with more than $712,000 in pandemic relief money. He later pleaded guilty.

Allen purchased the English Turn home for $765,000 in November 2025 and initially gave Holmes a 50 percent ownership interest.

On January 9, 2026, less than a month after his federal charge, Allen transferred his remaining interest in the property to Holmes, making her the full owner.

Holmes told WWL TV she did not know about Allen’s criminal case until he pleaded guilty in April. She said their engagement has since ended and denied any wrongdoing.

There is currently no allegation that Holmes participated in Allen’s fraud or knew about it when the property was transferred.

Allen has agreed to repay $712,212.84 as part of his federal plea agreement.

Holmes is currently seeking reelection to the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court.
