Pass Christian Man Arrested In Deadly Gulfport Hit-And-Run
A Pass Christian man has been arrested and charged after Gulfport police say he left the scene of a crash that claimed the life of another person.
According to the Gulfport Police Department, officers responded to the 8300 block of Georgia Avenue during the early morning hours of June 11 after receiving reports of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from severe injuries. Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.
As detectives investigated the incident, they identified 49-year-old Minh Hoang Truong of Pass Christian as the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. Authorities allege Truong left the scene after the collision instead of remaining at the location.
Police later located and arrested Truong. He has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
Authorities say Truong is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Gulfport Police Department.
