Rayne Man Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges, Additional Victims Reportedly Identified

Louisiana State Police announced the arrest of a Rayne man following an investigation involving child sexual abuse material and allegations of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

According to authorities, 42 year old Julian “Trey” Aucoin III was arrested on April 24 by detectives with the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, with assistance from the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say a review of evidence tied to a 2023 case uncovered additional victims as well as additional sources of child sexual abuse material. That led to an arrest warrant being issued through the 15th Judicial District Court.

Aucoin now faces seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile. He was booked into the Acadia Parish Corrections Facility.

State Police say the investigation is still active, and more information could be released as the case develops.

Authorities also urged the public to report suspicious activity involving child exploitation or trafficking through the Louisiana State Police anonymous reporting system.
