Vehicle Flips on Veterans Boulevard, Prompting Major Traffic Delays

A rollover crash shut down part of Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie on Tuesday, leaving a vehicle on its side and drawing a large emergency response.

Photos from the scene show multiple Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office units blocking the roadway while deputies and first responders worked around the overturned SUV. Debris from the crash could be seen scattered across the roadway.

According to information shared by witnesses, the crash occurred on Veterans Boulevard near Power Boulevard, around the Kawanee Avenue intersection. Motorists were urged to avoid the area as emergency crews worked to secure the scene and clear the roadway.

At this time, it is unknown what caused the crash, whether anyone was injured, or if any citations will be issued.

Drivers traveling through Metairie should expect delays until the scene is cleared and traffic returns to normal.
