Woman Fatally Shot At Hammond Gas Station, Police Searching For Suspects
HAMMOND, La. — A woman was shot and killed early Thursday morning in the parking lot of a gas station in Hammond, according to police.
Officers with the Hammond Police Department responded around 1:15 a.m. on June 4 to the Chevron located at 3123 Highway 190 West after reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the gas station and determined that a gray sedan was parked at one gas pump while a white sedan was parked nearby.
According to police, two individuals wearing dark clothing exited the passenger side of the white sedan armed with what appeared to be AR-style pistols. The suspects allegedly opened fire on the rear passenger side of the gray sedan while the woman was inside.
Investigators said the suspects then returned to the white sedan and continued firing before fleeing the area.
The white sedan was last seen traveling west on Highway 190 toward Interstate 55.
The investigation remains active.
