St. Tammany Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Animal, Bond Set at $30,000
A 44-year-old man booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail last week is facing charges involving the alleged sexual abuse of an animal, according to jail records and court minutes.
Justin Allen was booked by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office on August 14.
Jail records list charges of sexual abuse of an animal and obstruction of justice/simple assault.
Allen appeared via Zoom Monday morning for a felony 72-hour hearing before Judge James G. Burke III of Louisiana’s 22nd Judicial District Court.
Court minutes provide additional detail, stating that Allen is charged with two counts of sexual abuse of an animal and two counts of obstruction of justice/simple assault.
The court set bond at $15,000 on Count 1 and another $15,000 on Count 2, each payable by cash, property or surety, for a total bond of $30,000.
The court also appointed the Office of Indigent Defender to represent Allen.
The allegations contained in the charges have not yet been proven in court.
