The Highway 11 drawbridge is back to normal operation after remaining stuck in the erect position for several hours, bringing traffic to a standstill while crews worked to bring it back down.
According to officials, the bridge unexpectedly became erect and refused to return to its normal operating position despite multiple attempts to correct the issue. Maintenance personnel were on scene for several hours inspecting the bridge before it was restored to normal function.
Drivers had been encouraged to seek an alternate route while crews worked on the bridge.
