Highway 11 Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Slidell Man

A Slidell man was killed early Thursday morning following a motorcycle crash on Highway 11 near Lakeview Drive.

According to the Louisiana State Police, the crash happened around 3 a.m. on May 14. Troopers said 21 year old Gavin B. Dietrich was riding a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R southbound on Highway 11 at a high rate of speed while approaching a right hand curve.

Investigators say the motorcycle traveled off the left side of the roadway into a gravel parking lot before going over an embankment. Dietrich was thrown from the motorcycle and struck the shoreline riprap along the coast.

He suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police.
