Tragedy Near Hwy. 11: Slidell Man Killed After Being Struck by Train

A man was struck and killed by a train near Highway 11 in Slidell on Sunday, April 26, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said it was notified shortly before 7:30 p.m. that a train conductor had reported striking a person on the tracks near Haas Road. Deputies found an unidentified white male dead in the grass on the east side of the tracks.

The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office took custody of the body and will work to identify him. The circumstances are under investigation, and no further details had been released.
