Federal Indictment Filed Against Metairie Pastor in Fraud Case
A Metairie pastor is now facing federal charges after authorities say he illegally accessed funds tied to a business account over several years.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 56-year-old Dale Sanders of Kenner has been indicted on eleven counts, including access device fraud and obstruction of a federal investigation.
Investigators allege the activity took place between April 2020 and April 2024. During that time, Sanders is accused of using an unauthorized debit card connected to a company account, resulting in the withdrawal of approximately $343,293.
The case is being handled in federal court, and if convicted, Sanders could face up to 20 years in prison, along with fines of up to $250,000 and additional penalties including supervised release.
Federal officials emphasized that an indictment is not a conviction. The charges represent allegations, and the case will be decided through the legal process.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI and is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
