Investigation Update: Witnesses, Evidence Reviewed In Randy Smith-Couvillion Case

Five days after the alleged altercation between St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith and Covington resident Bobby Couvillion at a Madisonville restaurant, new details about the investigation have emerged.

According to records, at least nine witnesses reportedly saw the incident. The Sheriff’s Office report reportedly identifies Smith as the suspect and Couvillion as the alleged victim.

Evidence submitted in the case reportedly includes 36 injury photographs and two Snapchat videos.

The case has been turned over to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation. The Sheriff’s Office has declined to release 911 audio from the incident, citing the ongoing investigation.
