Louisiana AG Announces 60 Sex Offenders Arrested In “Operation Restricted Domain”

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced that 60 registered sex offenders were arrested during a massive two month law enforcement operation across the Greater Baton Rouge area known as “Operation Restricted Domain.”
According to investigators, the operation targeted registered sex offenders accused of illegally using the internet and violating Louisiana sex offender registry laws. The sweep was led by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and involved multiple local, state, and federal agencies working together to track offenders using secure law enforcement databases.
Murrill said the operation sends a message that Louisiana will aggressively pursue individuals who prey on children online.
Authorities say Louisiana’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has dramatically expanded since early 2024, growing from just eight partner agencies to more than 80 agencies statewide.
The Attorney General’s Office also revealed a sharp increase in cyber tips involving potential child exploitation cases. From January through May 10 of this year alone, Louisiana received nearly 27,000 cyber tips compared to just over 31,000 during all of 2025. Investigators say the ICAC Task Force and Cyber Crime Unit have already made 292 arrests this year, identified 36 child victims, and rescued 32 children from ongoing abuse situations.
The operation included assistance from sheriff’s offices in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, West Feliciana, and West Baton Rouge parishes, along with Louisiana State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
Officials say the suspects face charges ranging from unlawful use of social networking websites and failure to properly register as sex offenders to more severe allegations involving explicit materials and animal abuse. Authorities added that the investigations remain active and additional arrests or charges are possible.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
