Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting 9-Year-Old Boy Over Haircut

A 36-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested after police say he assaulted a 9-year-old boy following an argument over a haircut.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Alcender Angelo Williams Jr., 36, was arrested by the Monroe Police Department on July 2. Officers responded to a disturbance, but investigators say Williams had already left the scene before they arrived.

Police say the child told officers Williams grabbed him by the neck and shoved him to the ground twice. Officers reportedly observed a small abrasion and discoloration on the boy’s lower back. The child’s mother told investigators she witnessed Williams shove her son to the ground a second time after hearing him scream.

Investigators say Williams told police he became upset after waking from a nap and discovering the 9-year-old had allegedly cut Williams’ hair while he was sleeping.

Williams was later located on Hanson Street, arrested without incident, and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of cruelty to juveniles and criminal trespass.
