Second-In-Command at STPSO Resigns
ST. TAMMANY PARISH — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that Chief Deputy Jeff Boehm has submitted his resignation, effective June 22, 2026.
Boehm, who served as the agency’s second-in-command, stated that after careful consideration he determined stepping aside was in the best interest of the Sheriff’s Office and the deputies who serve the citizens of St. Tammany Parish.
In a statement, Boehm said it had been an honor to serve alongside the men and women of the agency and emphasized that the decision was not made lightly. He expressed confidence that the Sheriff’s Office would continue to uphold high standards of professionalism and service moving forward.
The announcement did not provide a specific reason for the resignation.
As Chief Deputy, Boehm held one of the highest-ranking positions within the Sheriff’s Office and played a significant role in the agency’s day-to-day operations.
The resignation comes during a period of heightened public attention surrounding the Sheriff’s Office, though officials have not indicated whether the departure is connected to any recent events.
No information has been released regarding who will assume the Chief Deputy position or whether an interim replacement has already been selected.
The Sheriff’s Office has not announced any additional personnel changes at this time.
