Second Suspect Wanted in Gulfport Waffle House Shooting as Investigation Expands
More than a week after gunfire erupted outside a Gulfport Waffle House on the Fourth of July, investigators say they are now searching for a second suspect believed to be involved in the incident.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has identified 25-year-old Jaheim Omari Rattley as a wanted suspect. Authorities say he is facing three counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting, which occurred at the Waffle House on Canal Road near Interstate 10.
The shooting happened during the early morning hours of July 4. Despite the exchange of gunfire, officials say no one was injured.
Investigators previously announced the arrest of 27-year-old Jeremiah Octavius Lee Nance, who turned himself in shortly after the shooting. Nance is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Now, with a second suspect still at large, authorities are asking anyone with information on Rattley’s whereabouts to contact the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges or arrests could follow as detectives continue to gather evidence.
