Two Men Die After Being Pulled From Water Near Pearl River Lock

Two men died Wednesday after being pulled from the water at the Lock One Navigational Canal near Pearl River.

According to authorities, emergency responders were called to the area after reports that two individuals were unresponsive after entering the water near the lock. Family members who were with the men pulled them from the water before deputies arrived.

Deputies and emergency medical personnel immediately began life-saving efforts at the scene. Both men were transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office has taken custody of the bodies.

The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released at this time.
