Kentwood Man Dies Following St. Tammany Parish Crash

A Kentwood man has died following a single-vehicle crash in St. Tammany Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers said the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. Monday on Louisiana Highway 450 near Folsom. Investigators say a 2001 Ford F-350 was traveling northbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway before striking a tree.

George Cole, 89, of Kentwood, was riding in the passenger seat at the time of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital with what authorities described as moderate injuries. State Police said Cole died Tuesday as a result of those injuries.

The driver of the truck was also taken to a hospital but suffered only minor injuries.

Investigators have not yet determined what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police.

Authorities have not released any additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
